GTX 300 and HD5870X2 information

I think the 4870x2 was a little bit slower wasn't it? Nothing that actually mattered or was noticable though.

@daedalus - yep i meant bandwidth starved and not memory.

It's about the same up until 2560x1600 it would seem after a bit of research, where the 4870X2 takes a good lead.

Are you sure you are not comparing the 4870 512mb to the x2?

i'm also pretty sure that the 4870x2 was a tad bit slower than two 4870's in crossfire

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it was 512MB cards I was looking at. Anyways, the two 1GB were more expensive than the 4870X2 if I recall.

OK people, think about why the # nomenclature strategy was picked over the previous suffix method, and this what better fits that concept HD5970 or HD5870X2 ?
