I want to play new games for the next 2 years or so at top settings with no less than 40 FPS at the worst times. I will buy the GTX 590 if it is worth 3x the GTX 560 Ti, but I don't know if it is. That is why I come to you guys. I don't mind replacing in a year if it will save money overall.

1.) Is the GTX 590 worth 3x the cost of GTX 560 Ti? Will it run some current games better than the 560 Ti? Or are they both beyond the needs of current games?

2.) How much of an improvement is it?

3.) I looked at the wikipedia for the GeForce 500 series which gives every stat for each. Which stats are relevant, so I don't have to ask next time?

Thanks!

I'm open to other GPU suggestions.

I want to see a bigger picture of your catch Geek, looks nice :)

I would just SLI two 560ti or 570's if you must.

If I guessed, I would say that a single 570 should keep you at above 40fps for the next 18months at least. But I am not expert when it comes to GFX.

I have SLI 570's, and I love them. But, I kind of wish I had waited for the 560's, they seem to scale really really well.
No. Dual GPU cards are almost never worth the price since they are the extreme top end. If the 560Ti is not enough, I would recommend the 570 or two of the 560Tis.

Also, it is very difficult to estimate performance off of stats alone. Read reviews off of tech sites like this one, anandtech, etc.

I guess I don't completely understand how it works. Is a dual GPU card different than two Video Cards running SLI/CF?

And how long would a GTX 570 realistically keep me playing games at top settings without dropping fps below 40?

Thanks for the help.

Dual GPU cards are pretty much like having 2 cards in SLI/CF.(With the exception of PCI-E slot requirements of course)
No one can tell you for how long you can play games with 40 FPS or higher(It all depends on the games you play. There are lots of ported games which are poorly optimized and don't perform good on any system) but for now,you can max out all games on resolutions like 1080p
