GTX 660 ti or GTX 670?

Hey, im looking ot build my own pc in the near future and im torn between two graphics cards, the gtx 660ti or the gtx 670. I know that there is not much difference in performance between the two except for the bandwidth speed, but can the 670 overclock better or should i be looking at something like the gtx 680? Im also looking at longevity for my build in the sense that i will be able to play upcoming games at a stable frame rate (btw ill be playing at 1080p) Any help would be much appreciated.

Primarily im looking at the evga ftw editions for either card however if anyone can suggest better performing/better overclocking versions im happy to hear them. also take into mind i am looking at aesthetics as well as perfomance, hence the evga choice.

As for the rest of my build:
Sabertooth Z77 mobo
Intel i5 3570k CPU
Corsair HX 750 PSU
Corsair H100/H110i (still deciding) CPU Cooler
Corsair Vengeance 8Gb DDR3 RAM
Corsair 650D Case
Asus VS248H 24" Monitor
The rest is not important and yes, i like corsair

A 670 will absolutely dominate at 1080p. I have mine decently overclocked to play at 2560 by 1440 and this card does a great job. Only game I can't play at the highest settings (barring AA use) would be Metro 2033. Every other game has been a treat on this card. With a little tweaking, Far cry 3 runs 60 constant (while arguably looking better than default settings). Assassins creed 3 has slight slowdown in very intense areas. I can run Arkham City with high physx with 40-60 fps if i'm willing to use only fxaa. It is a monster of a card. As for the 680, it really is not worth it. I'm getting 680 performance after an overclock. For $100 less at the time I bought it. I'm also running a FTW 670.

Can you tell which one i'd recommend?

At the price point I would probably recommend a 7950 - especially when you start to talk about OCing.

670 is safer for future. It will run everything on Max @1080p for 2 years.

I own a 660ti, but I know I plan on gaming for only one more year, afterwards much more casual gaming so spending $315 was enough for me.

The Sabertooth Z77 is a little overpriced. Not sure what you want to use it for. You can save some money if you drop down. Also, the Sabertooth is for those that really want to overclock.(and that includes GPU) By saving the money and getting a cheaper mobo you can easily justify getting a 670.

Also, don't be afraid of overclocking a 670. You can do so safely and get more out of your gpu. A mild overclock might be better for you. Personally, I like to push my GPU until it crashes.(I won't let it overheat either)

What about your SSD or HDD? Prices on both have fallen dramatically. I'm even thinking about buying a 1TB HDD to add to my 2x500gb.

Thanks for the advice on the card, it makes sense to go for the 670 casue ill be gaming for a while and atm it has more overclocking potential compared to the 660ti. my HDD is a 2t barracuda 7200rpm no SSD atm. any thoughts?

im not sure im hoping to get a pc soon rather than later and the new series is still going to be much more expensive so mabey i get a 660ti until it released

You got to buy at least a 120/128GB SSD. It makes everything seem instantaneous. HDDs are fine for storage, but once you feel the speed of a SSD for programs/OS you'll never want anything else. Buying a SSD was the best $100 I spent on my build.

Buy a Samsung 830 128gb (or 840pro), OCZ Vertex 4, or Intel 520.

I thought about getting about a ssd due to how fast windows boot up within 3-5 secs

I have OS, programs (MS Office, Photoshop, and other common programs), 2 games (Battlefield 3 and Skyrim) all on a 120GB SSD.
I still have room to spare. However, I won't install any more games on my SSD, as I'm satisfied with HDD speeds.
