I've just reinstalled the XP Pro for the third time (all clean install), and I'm experiencing a little problem:
It takes about 2 minutes to shutdown/restart... This did not happen on the previous 2 clean installs.
ps: clear pagefile on exit on all 3 installs.
Is there anything I can do to shorten the time on shutdown/restart?

Hrm... this is interesting.
I decided to use the command lines to shutdown/restart Windows just to see if it's gonna be faster, this is what I did:
shutdown -r -t 05
shutdown -s -t 05
and then >>> PROBLEM SOLVED =)
Now when I go to Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart/Turn Off, my system shuts off/reboot within 5 seconds (with logging off and saving settings)
So if you're experiencing the same problem, try the command line, it worked on my system.

I suppose this is the same command that XP uses to shutdown/reboot.
The -m switch allows you to remotely shutdown/reboot other computers on the network.
