Hard drive dead data

I fried a hard drive is there any way to get the data out or is it dead data ?

Fried it in what way?
If it wont even power up then without sending it someplace like disklabs you are unlikely to get anything from it.
If it is only corrupted/formatted etc then it's possible to D.I.Y.

Need more info
