Hard drive HELP

my hard drive started clicking and now doesn't show up in windows. I want to know if there is anyway to get the data off. what are some things i could try to get my data off is it safe to freeze it?

See if the drive is still spinning by touching or holding it while the computer is powered on. If it is, you will be able to feel vibrations. If the drive is still spinning, put it in a ziploc bag and leave it in the freezer for several hours. Once it is sufficiently cold, you may have a short opportunity to grab your most important files.

It is definitely a long shot. It has been documented to work, though.
