Recently my (old) hard drive started making this noise, it sounds like it spins up, clicks then spins down, though im not sure. Does anyone recognize a drive sounding like this? What's the cause and are those the last days of its life? (ignore the 2 short buzzes those are from my phone)

no idea what sounds you're referring to.
all i hear is some humming and some beeps/squeaks.

run CHKDSK or any manufacturer installed disk monitoring software and check the health of the disk.
watch the disk usage and speeds in Task manager while some large file transfers are occurring and see how it functions.

as always, make sure any important data is backed up to a secure location.
get a decent large SSD to replace it.

I'm talking about the repetitive clicking sound and the whine that goes up and down in pitch. It's fairly loud, I can hear it with the case closed and my headset on. Crystaldiskinfo shows caution, I'll send a screenshot of it later 🙂
