hard drive recovery question

I have a 40 gig HD where I put all of my family pictures, about 4 years worth. Stupid me yesterday, trying to fix a problem with my boot up drive, deleted the partition on the photo archive drive. That's all i did, was delete the partition, no reformat or anything, but now the computer doesn't read the HD.

Please tell me my pictures are still there and how I can get them back online.

Use a program such as "Handy Recovery 2" or "GetBackNTFS", as long as you havent overwritten the files it should find them no problem.
