2I have a Maxtor 80gb ATA 133 hard drive which had a problem. It lost its
performance and I decided to reformat it. I booted up from a floppy disk with
ME on it. and deleted the NTFS partition using fdisk. Unfortunately somehow I
have lost more than 48gb of space on the HD and cannot get Win XP Pro or
MSDOS/ME fdisk to get it back. Does anybody know what the remedy is and how
can I get the 80gb of space back?
Regards

XP Pro does not allow you to create a FAT32 partition that is greater than
32GB. Use NTFS partitions so that you can get the 48GB back.

This is only the problem is creating the partition. XP can read any size of
FAT32 partition.
