I'm currently running this

cool master mid case
AMD Quad core Phenom 2 x4 9750 at 2.5 g
Mobo--- asus (hp) M2N68-La (narra3)
4G corsair ram
250g hard drive
Zalman oversized heat sink
Antecedent True power 550watt psu
AMD Radeon HD4870 Saphire graphics card

I'm going to build new system in a couple months ...

I want to upgrade current machine to run eyefinity . I have 2 options
1-buy a decent card that's in the eyefinity group ?
2-buy one of the gpu cards that I'm putting in new build ?
Option 2 is fine if the computer will support it I'm going to run 2x R9 280's
I can buy 1 now and one later and then put it in the new build .... THOUGHTS ?

I want to play around with a 3x1 setup but on new build I want 5x1 portrait

Solution
I've just studied these sorts of things on my own and I try to stay up to date on the newest stuff. Let's just say that in the computer science profession, it's best to understand the stuff that does what you tell it to. Also it's great knowing what's best for gaming, I am a pretty solid PC gamer.

But back to a short-term graphics card: Your CPU's really weak so you can't get too good a graphics card, otherwise you will not experience any returns. I'd say either an EVGA FTW GTX 750 Ti, a Sapphire Dual-X R7 265, or an Asus Strix GTX 960. One of those should be a decent enough stopgap measure. They can run games decently but not three 1080p monitors.
What does the outside temp have anything to do with my PC
Maybe if I was dealing with high relative humidity outside but even then u can control that with your hvac system .. So I'm confused what your saying .... You said before u buy anything u need a serious cooler ...like the giant eye sore you recommended .. I then asked why do you say that do u not think that the AIO water system the NZXT X61 . That I have chose for my build will not let it maintain a steady and safe temperature ???

Rosewill power supplies are actually pretty damn good, I have a Capstone tier 2 and it's served me well even in crappy old electrical circuits and in power outages. Note that the Valens is "to be evaluated." He's basing the PSU off of a recommendation I made much earlier in the thread where I had recommended a cheap Rosewill EATX-compatible fulltower, and typically PSUs fit best in bases built by the same manufacturer. My non-CM PSU didn't like fitting in my HAF X, the holes were generally in the right area but it was extremely difficult to torque them in. I don't know how NZXT cases fit various PSUs but a different PSU in this case would be appropriate, EVGA is my next go-to brand after Rosewill.

And he's not gonna hardcore overclock or crap like that. If stock cooling will work for a 4790K in gaming, a 212 EVO will work for the lesser Extreme editions for the load he'll be using. Given his limited budget a 212 EVO should be fine, especially since it's less than half the cost of any AiO water loop.

no they are terrible unless you know specifically the model is tested good

most rosewill psu are tin cans, treat them as such

Getting 2 EVGA GTX780ti's

Hi, before you buy 2 780 Ti's, what is the monitor you're planning to use. 1080p (x1, x3, x4, x5) / 1440p / 1600p / 4320p?

If its a single 1080p or 1440p, dont bother getting a 2nd 780 Ti. 3ple monitor go 2x 780 Ti.
