Having a really bizarre problem with my AOC q27g3xmn (1440p, 180hz) monitor and I'm completely drained to find a solution but desperate.

Hi all,
Recently bought a new monitor because my old acer has burnt pixels. I've had it for almost a decade and it was a real fighter but it was time for a immediate upgrade.
I bought this monitor while it was on sale, and at first nothing happened no dimming, no bleeding, nothing really out of the ordinary but the first suspect signs were when I played video games because the monitor would turn off randomly (weird enough, without no errors like no display port available) just black screen. While browsing or watching it has no problems only when I game, and this only happened only for a second or two and it came back on but more weird it was that using HDMI made everything worse like I could browse the internet but when I opened a game it would flicker insanely and the monitor would turn off.

This however was a bit solved with DP, switched cables and it no longer does that but after a couple of minutes of gaming (10-5 minutes) the monitor would turn off again and after a second coming back. I switched to my older monitor and that old piece of hardware had no problems whatsoever, I was running games with no problems at all and I got my warranty around the monitor and after 14 days the service said that there was no problems with the internal part, and it was weird because I even switched cables and power outlets slots and I got the same thing.

Tried everything, DDU, turning off FreeSync, limiting refresh rates, but it does still happen.
(p:s now i'm using DP because it happens less compared to HDMI that goes instantly nuts)

Any help? is the internal power supply of the monitor bricked? did the service lied to me?

Even if they say they solved the problem, the unit is considered a disaster in the industry, quite literally.

Seems to me as if your GPU's the one affected, not your monitor. Have you tried hooking your newly purchased monitor on another display source to see if the issue persists?

Your two monitors aren't the same make and mode(assuming) and not the same resolution.

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

6/22/2025, 12:35 SOLVED!
Retried a newer port of displayport from my GPU instead of the HDMi (that I used to use) and now no flicker at all!
I think the other DP port was faulty, probably electromagnetic interference and my gpu (and while gaming it pushed it) being kind of old it only made sense.

Thanks to everyone who commented.

Tried a different port of DP instead of HDMI, and now it works! god I feel stupid but also happy and it was obvious since my GPU is kind of old and never used DP before so yeah.
