Hi, recently I changed my PC case and PSU to new ones, I assembled everything and it worked fine and quiet, After a week my both new HDD and older HDD drives became significantly louder after turning on PC in the morning, they sound like fans or a vaccum or something. Since then these HDDs are the loudest thing in my PC.

I unplugged them both and it was quiet, all I heard were fans and PSU.

My specs are:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
  • RTX 3060 12GB OC
  • Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance LPX Black
  • SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 Gold 650W (old one was Corsair VS550)
  • ENDORFY Signum 300 ARGB (old one is some no name random case)
  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3,5" (ST2000DM008) (the loudest from the two)
  • Western Digital WD10EURX-63FH1Y0 1TB 3,5
  • 2 SSD SATA and one M2 SSD
What I tried:
  • Checking bad sectors, checking if the drives are bad, everything is fine, there were no errors or messages about something bad
  • Changed PSU to the older one, did nothing
  • Using small sound proof padding with rubber slots that slide into dedicated place in case
  • Changing sata order, changing order where they sit, up or down
  • Changed "Turn off hard disk after" to 1 minute and the HDD was still running
  • Moving PC case somewhere open so sound doesn't bounce of furniture, HDD on the floor is as loud as in the case
  • Securing them tighter in the rubber slots
  • Using them upside down
  • Switching SATA power cables
  • Plugged in different, even older HDD but it was also loud
And honestly can't remember what's more

What I didn't try:
  • Updating BIOS to newest version
  • Screwing in HDDs directly to the case, not rubber slots, but they were loud when in hands, on floor, in case etc.
  • Changing Motherboard, GPU, CPU, RAM, because I don't have any replacements
  • Changing power outlets or power strips
Probably something more I forgot...
Sorry for any spelling mistakes or other errors, I post this to try to fix it as fast as possible, because I use my PC everyday and this sound causes real headache...
