Hello. So after my christmas i built my pc , connected the adapter and the monitor (i have a vga monitor and gpu does have only hdmi and displayport connectors so i have bought hdmi to vga adapter) and it showed up no signal. I have tried pc with tv (without adapter) and it worked. also the adapter isnt broken because it works laptop / tv
laptop / monitor so there is something with pc or gpu Please help

*edit : also it doesnt work pc with adapter to tv (yeah our tv does have vga connector)

Solution
For some reason, the adapter can convert the digital signal from your laptop, but not from your PC. It sounds like it's just not able to complete the handshake with your PC's graphics. I can only suggest trying another adapter or (to be brutally honest) upgrade to a new digital display.

Well...

What graphics does your laptop have and what graphics does your PC have? What's the difference between the two? My guess would be the HDMI revision. Even if you could find an adapter that says it supports your pc graphics HDMI revision, there's no guarantee that it would work.

You can keep trying adapters until you find one that works, or you can accept the fact that the IT world has (cruelly) moved beyond analog signals and made your perfectly functional display, obsolete.

Hey, I don't like it either. I've been building PCs since the late 90s. I've got boxes and boxes; literally thousands of dollars spent on hardware that is perfectly functional, but obsolete.
