So I have a bit of a weird problem. I have a pair of iphone headphones and when I first plug them into my laptop they don't work. They only work if I restart my laptop and the headphones are plugged in when it restarts. However, if I ever take them out and put them back in, it doesn't work again and I have to restart the laptop. My Realtek high definition audio drivers are up to date.
Windows 7 64x
8gb ddr3 7200 ram
gtx 870M 3gb
Intel Core i7-4710MQ
Thanks for the help!
Realtec settings: detect devices as they are plugged in,
OR
Possibly a newer audio driver from the realtec website.
OR
Security antivirus blocks external input. Try turning the security off and re-test.
Hi, my realtek settings are already set to detect device as plugged in. When I have the realtek audio manager open, itt shows that a device has been plugged into the analog back panel slot but I can't hear anything. When I take the headphones out it shows the slot as empty, so it's recognizing that i'm plugging headphones into it.
I checked for driver updates via sound tab in control panel but it says the drivers are up to date.
I also tried disabling my anti-virus and that didn't work either.
The only solution is still turning my laptop off and on.
