I can hear my headset mic through my headphones even when I have the mic disabled in windows

I was just bored and started to touch my headset mic and noticed I could hear rustling in my headset from touching the mic. I disabled the mic in windows to see if it would do anything, but I could still hear it. Also when the mic wasn't disabled I looked in the mixer and nothing showed it was playing the mic back. Also, the headset is the Plantronics 505 lava rig.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

How are you connected to your sound source with your headset? Are you sure you're not misinterpreting the noise/vibration feedback since the mic is in close proximity to the ear cups(ears)? Can you see the bars move when your mic is disabled in Sound Manager?

If you're on a desktop, what OS are you working with and what version are you on(if Windows 10)?

My headset is connected with USB if that's what you're asking. I am pretty sure that I'm not misinterpreting it since it is so clear to hear, but maybe. Though when it is enabled the sound settings show the mic having sound come from it which is normal, but when I disabled it call still be heard but I can't see the bar move.

Windows version: 10.0.18362 Build 18362
