$700.00

Processor Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processor Q8400 [2.66GHz, 4MB L2, 1333MHz FSB]

second sytems basically stays the same but replace processor to
Intel® Core™ i5-750 processor [2.66GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache

and its cost is $833.80

The third sytem would be

Intel® Core™ i7-860 processor [2.8GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache] and 720gb hd and would cost
$933.80

To upgrade memory to 8gb for either system is $60.00

Also I know i7 is going to be the best but is it neccesary for my needs thanks everyone

For what you have describe, the Phenom II X4 or the i750 system would perform very well, and offer the best price / performance ratio. This article will give you an idea of how these different processor compare from a performance viewpoint.

If you live near a Microcenter store, you can pick up a i750 processor for $150 or a i860 processor for $230.

Also, I would recommend that you purchase the ATI 5770 graphics card. This card has excellent performance for both gaming and as a HTPC card, and the 5770 is low powered, runs cool, and is quiet. It is well worth the extra cost.

Yea Im buying through Hp sorry I have no idea how to build a computer and I need it quick .

would buy the i5 one. this is becuase, the i5 is faster then the amd, and just the right amount of speed. it has all right parts, except the vid card. i know your not doing much of any video intensive stuff, but you might as well get onboard video if you are going to get a 220. aside from that everything else is good.
