Hi,
I have a relatively new build: MSI B450m pro-m2, Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB RAM and recently got a 1660. So here goes the problem:

Some days ago my PC was fine, playing games, no signs of anything, but today i tried turning it on but nothing. The PC turns on, fans, etc, everything OK, but no display. Since my GPU is new, and my monitor isn't, i have a HDMI x VGA converter (a real one, not just an adapter), so i try plugging it in and out a couple of times and BAM, Windows login screen appears (which means the PC boots normally).

I use it for some time (hours) and then turn it off (for testing). The same problem appears, but now even plugging the converter in and out like 30 times it doesn't display anything. The thing displays the login screen some times in a blue moon, but why doesn't it display on the first try? I know the monitor is fine because if i unplug the VGA from the converter it keeps displaying "No signal", and like I said, after a lot of tries it displays something. I got a new converter then but the problems persist.

I then open the PC case, to look for something wrong i guess, and the backplate of the GPU is pretty hot. Could the converter have damaged the GPU? Also, could this be a faulty MOBO?

I heard somewhere too that a faulty PSU can cause some "no display" problems. And finally, saw something not too long ago about some Windows 10 PCs with black screen. Dunno if it can be related, but help me with anything i can look into.

Thanks in advance people!

I’ve had adaptors like that and specifically the HDMI to vga ones I have problems with over time. I’d try plugging the computer into a tv or something with a HDMI cable and see what happens

Apparently my monitor is too old and even the converter doesn't do the job (funny since i've been using it since my previous 1050 normally).

I plugged the PC in the TV (HDMI) and it worked fine, first try, so thanks people!
