help please win7 doesn't show/detect installed ram

hey guys,
so, I had 8GB ram (2x4gb)
bought another 8GB ram (2x4gb)
all 4 exactly same modules

cpuid cpu-z shows 16gb
bios shows 16gb
but win7 shows 8gb (installed)

win7 ultimate 64bit
ddr3 corsair vengeance 1866
asus p9x79 ws
i7 3930k

did you try to put new ram in first and have it detect by system then had the old one in .

did all that

see if you could mix one old ram with one new one on the same channel how it been detect also check if they have same jedec and voltages settings adding this try the mem ok button on the board .

you use the ddr3 slot that all labeled as 1 one the board and does the ram led stay on and you have any debug led code on the board .

i mixed ram modules in motherboard (old, new, old, new)
and its working!
its shows all 16gb now
strange how it works
