Need help desperately.Have a 1.3 AMD with a GFORCE2 PRO-64 meg and my flight sim starts out well at around 100 frame rates but as the action heats up drops all the way to 4 frame rates.Something is terribly wrong,no way this system should drop off that much.Have the latest DX8 installed do you think I should go back to DX7?Everything has the latest drivers.Iam at a complete loss as to what is slowing and chokeing this thing down.I also have Cacheman installed and Windows manageing the memory with the swap file on C drive along with the operateing system.Nothing is running in the backround, use Enditall to make sure.Any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated.HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Petytheft.Everywhere I look everyone is saying to get Cacheman. When you have a min could you give your reasons to get rid of it.

What are temps. and duration before slowing down?

I want to die like my Grandfather...in my sleep...not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Kronos, not a temp issue.Have 4 fans iside and one ex besides CPU fan. Also 2 blowing in from outside.Large case and the temp is 122 on CPU and 70 on mb.Thanks.

Is it just the framerates that deteriorate, or all of the action of the game slows down?
You see, I face a problem similar to yours in "Giants citizen kabuto" in mecc story 5, last mission. The game begins normally but gradually starts stalling for longer and longer periods (up to ~1 second); actually, graphics, sound and response to keyboard are not 'continuous' any more. My system is 1GHz (266 fsb) Tbird on MSI K7T-Turbo, Leadtek GF2GTS 32MB, 128MB ram, 20.5 GB Quantum HD (7200 rpm), and a Globalwin FOP32 on the CPU. I have detonators 6.50 and 4in1s 4.31 .
Once, after quiting to desktop from Giants (having experienced the problem), i noticed that my harddisk's response to mouse clicks in Explorer was showing great delays.
I've read that the KT133A's southbridge has some problems with IDE bus mastering. Could this be the cause of our problems?

Marios,it sounds like our systems are pretty close and the problem in some respects. The only thing mine does is slow done in frame rate from 100 to 8-10.Iam not very computer smart, how can we find out about this problem you mentioned?Hope you are on to something. There is a new version of 4in1 drivers out at M3Dzone.Got them last night.
Iam useing the 11.01 DET drivers with DX8.1.Thinking of going back to DX7.0a.What do you think?
