So, I was thinking of getting the Foxconn 7900gs. I'm a newbie (as my username suggests) to PC components and I was wondering what level of PSU I'd need to run the Foxconn 7900gs.

Howdy, below is a link to some power supplies. You will want to pick one from the Tier T and above category. Buying a good power supply the first time around can save you some headaches later. Better to buy a good one now that will last you 5 years, than to buy a cheap one now and have to purchase a new one again a few years later.

I prefer newegg.com for all of my computer purchases, they are great. What kind of power supply do you have now?

A 7900GS won't be a killer as far as power supplies go but a nice PSU will help in several ways, the biggest being system stability. Cheap PSUs can often be the culprit in unstable computers.

If you want a direct suggestion, try the Corsair 520HX (I believe it's modular, so you can hook up only the cables that you need, which makes for a much cleaner case. :sol:) There is also a Corsair 550VX if you want a bit more power, even a Silencer 610 (Tier 1, baby!) would be good and last you for a bit.
