Comb through device manager and see if you have any conflicts. Make sure you've got the latest drivers for everything. Please post system specs and power supply rail volts/amps. This could be a lot of things.

Abit IS7 - 2.8C @ 3.4 - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!

The A64's are power hogs. You should have at least 18a on your 12v rail to feel comfy. There is a decal on the side of your power supply like this.. Give me the readings off of it. Also, make sure that you give your ram at least 2.7v. A lot of boards undervolt. Case in point: Played Far Cry last nite for 2 hours. CPU temp kissing 50C. I set CPU Vcore at 1.575v a while back. I come back and the game is shut down. Play for a while again, I get a freeze and a Windows restart saying I have a driver issue. Huh? Reboot, set Vcore to 1.6v, issues gone. Actual CPU vcore is 1.58v rock solid. When I set it at 1.575v the voltages were bouncing from 1.54 to 1.575. It's little things like these that can drive you nuts. Stable power is a must.
