Hi I have a new P4 based system and wish to upgrade my psu. I have 6 Hdd 2 optical drives and a large number of case fans so believe I will need a high end PSu. What suggestions can you make?

Hello! You can think EG701AX- VE of Enermax.
It is 600W PSU enough to your need.It designed by ATX 12V V2.01,EPS12V,BTX design guide requirement.

I'm partial to Antec products myself. :)

<pre> 😱 <font color=purple>Yes I'm insane, but it's a <font color=blue><i>good</i></font color=blue> kind of <font color=red>crazy</font color=red>. 😱 </font color=purple></pre><p>@ 184K -> 200,000 miles or bust!

You did say High end correct? The best PSU on the market IMO is the Thermaltake 680W. I cant say the same about their other PSU's because they are probably just above average for good PSU's. The 680W however is a different story. Its the new split rail type, but it has 3 12V rials instead of the standard 2. Watt for Watt it will compete with just about any PSU as far as price. My ASUS mobo comes with a monitoring program that records the voltage of each rail on the PSU. It has been recording now nonstop since the day that I installed the PSU. I have never seen any PSU come close to this one as far as stability. The 12V rail has never dipped below 12.46 and tops at 12.513 the 5V stays within 5.196 - 5.222 the 3.3 stays 3.328 - 3.344

Check my sig and you will see that i run a very power hungry rig especially with the Overclocking that I do. I can assure you that OCing a 3.4Ghz CPU to 4.8Ghz wouldnt be easy without a very stable PSU.
