I have been searching for the past few days for an NVME enclosure that will deliver true USB4 speeds, that I can easily swap NVME's out of. I saw the ZikeDrive, Satechi, and OWC Express 1M2. I don't have a lot of confidence or trust in deciding between any of these. There might be newer options, but that isn't that important. I need something reliable but a lot of the reviews in these kinds of drives can be very misleading. The negative reviews specifically involve a lot of user errors. I was hoping someone more informed could assist in selecting an enclosure I could trust.

Make your own. Seriously, get a Startech USB to nvme cable and head over to thing verse to print an enclosure for it.

I was wondering about this. How hard could it be to make my own? Well, the first question I have is the board these enclosures use. I know the ZikeDrive uses an AsMedia ASM 2464PD Controller (

). If I just get a Startech cable, then what are these controllers for?
