quick question:
ive just got my monitor, and wanted to bring this point up-

In the manual for the CML174 it mentions one particular function; the graph/text??

i understand this is built into the display, and to help the clarity and sharpness of text a kind of "drop shadow" is put around the text on screen. its a bit distracting as when i look closely as the screen it appears to be bad convergence (but not actually the case). The manual describes how to turn this function on and off, as there are two profiles or modes.

For some reason the OSD doesn't enable me to do this. Would it be a monitor fault? has anyone else noticed this?

The Graph/text mode only works during boot up or if you are running low resolutions. Both 720 x 00 at 70Hz and 640 x 400 at 70Hz both have the same horizontal and vertical sync frequencies, the monitor cannot tell which mode it is in automatically. This is a simple manual way of telling the monitor what mode it is in so it fills the screen.

Run the monitor at its 1280 x 0124 native resolution and don’t worry about it.
