I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but do i need extra security on my home network, or is the standard security (wifipassord ect )sufficient?

standard wifi password is plenty. the average home user is not really at risk from a professional directed attack.

common sense use is more important than anything else. be safe and don't do anything stupid while on the web and you'll be fine :)

For most situztions, a unique quality password (12 characters minimum) is sufficient. If your router has "guest" WIFI, utilize that feature for all visitors. If you have kids, you type in the password for the house network. That way the kids can only give their friends the guest password.

A lot depends on your use case.

If it is just you, no problem.

If you are wanting to host a game or file server for yourself, or your kids and their friends, or wanting other outside access to your LAN and contents...that is a different thing.
