I have a 65inch lg smart tv, and a art and sound home theatre system, my tv only uses the optical digital audio cable but my home theatre system only has the rca component audio/aux imputs, so i was told by a tech specialist that i need to get the optical digital audio converter box to rca components, so after i hooked it all up i did the sound test on the tv, the only speaker that worked was the woofer/control box, the sound bar and corner speaker's just made a static popping sound, i tryed changing around the speaker wires but it just went silent. But when i turn on the tv to regular/cable tv the woofer didnt work anymore just the loud popping noise again. But when i test sounded it again it worked jusy fine, can u tell me whats going on

Solution
Not sure what you mean by sound test on the TV. Set the TV to output in stereo PCM.
The output of the converter is stereo so to get surround sound you have to select a surround mode on the HTS like Dolby PrologicII that is made to extract surround information from stereo sources.
