Question Hooking up my External Graphics card

I have a Mini Bmax 5 Pro with has a Ryzen 7 5825u. CPU and GPU1-
2- Goal : Adding external GPU to pc
3- Parts: GameMax 850w plus Power Supply, pci-e adapter, riser cable

So, (A) I will plug the CPU 8 pin wire from my Power supply to the Graphics card. Now that same wire I just put into the External Graphics card has a split , so I can add that to my PCIE ? ( that wire is a 6 +2 so it can go into the PCIE.

(B) I have now the wire that looks like a HDMI that is plugged into that port on my PCIE and that goes under the cover of my mini PC . I will put that M.2 cord Im assuming its called that looks like a computer chip on the tip. I will insert it starting from the right side and insert it into the " computer board extender" ? I don't know the name, but from what I understand , that is were you put it for ADD ON's? There is a thin foil like wire connected to the bottom of PC were Im going to put in the M.2 wire, it says " Facing Up", and I will start from the right and plug it in. It seems small for this insert, but Im assuming there are different M.2 slots and sizes. So when I put it in, I have to make sure the mini PC does not move cause I don't want the M.2 insert to come out .

(c) Now on my I have the Riser cable that goes from my Graphics card to my PCIE device. * Question is , the 12 pin cable that came with my power supply, Do I still need to connect that 12 pin cable into my PCEI? cause it came with a wire that will turn it into a 8 pin wire which I have a 8 pin Female slot open on the PCIE .


I'm assuming that is it, besides me downloading the program for my graphics card it should be done? Please , anything I said which is not correct, please let me know . I tried to explain myself as detail as possible . If you need any more info of any sort to help me out, please let me know.

What cable/port are you referring to? I don't see any provision to add an external GPU. What is the make and model of the riser cable that you speak of?

Since you seem to be a novice at this, it's best that you include images of what you're seeing in hopes that nothing is ruined in the process.

Can't really say without a complete parts list. I don't see multiple M.2 slots on the B5 Pro. Were you intending to use a SATA drive for the system?

Hello everyone , before I go and pay someone to fix this since its been sitting in the box for a few months now ( I will check the warranty but I think it over).

I have a Gamemax 850 Plus power supply that has never been used. I just wanted to make sure that it works . So I plugged it in and nothing is happening knor any lights going on.
There is a switch in the back to turn it ON/OFF , I have pressed it in both directions and nothing is going on. I don't know if the wires to connect it to the Graphics card or to the PCIE have to be connected in order for it to turn on, which I don't think that has to be the case. If anyone can help me to figure out the issue? I have no electricity issues in my place. Everything works and my power does not go out or glitch. But lets say for example , i have a lot of devices hooked onto the outlet and its running good with no issues, but I know if I put another Mini Doge 3 miner there , then the breaker will pop. If I add a lamp or a couple small things, everything will be fine but another Doge miner will trip the outlet. Could it be that, possibly not getting enough electricity? I have tried to plug in the power supply somewhere else that I don't have my Miners hooked up to, say another outlet that is on a different breaker than the miners, and it still wont go on?? Sorry for the little long explanation, I'm just trying to give you the best details on everything to help you better understand everything.

I have a BMAX Pro 5 7835u ( It has gpu and CPU.

So I think I read the same, for this PC, there is no way to add external graphics card , your saying?

The PSU must be connected to something (like a motherboard or PSU tester) to trigger the power on function. If a motherboard, it must be fully connected to it and the motherboard needs to have memory, CPU, and GPU (even if integrated) to boot (indicating the PSU works).

You can also use the paper clip method (just look for a YT video) to check the PSU.

Just plugging in and messing with the switch won't do anything (the switch must be on, by the way to check anything).

I think you are missing the main question. What are you trying to plug in to what? What GPU are you trying to use?

PSU is probably overkill, but also not a brand I would particularly choose.

The key is know how much power this external GPU adapter is intended to use. You mentioned plugging in an 8-pin CPU power cable, which is generally a 336W max connector, while GPUs typically use an 6+2 8-pin connector rated at 150W. If one is to power the adapter, and the other to power the GPU directly, yes, that is likely the correct way. But you can't plug CPU power into consumer GPUs, all 12V, but the wire configuration is different.

If this is an M.2 adapter, your OS is likely installed on an M.2 drive in the system. You could swap over to using a SATA drive, as there appears to be room for one 2.5" drive. But I don't see two M.2 slots, so something will have to change to make this work at all.

I don't think there will be room to reassemble the unit with the M.2 adapter installed, as the cable will have to come out somewhere.
