[SOLVED] How can I fix my mouse?

Hi guys, I'm faced with a problem my minimal understanding of technology cannot make sense of. My Alienware AW958 mouse randomly stopped working, mid-use while playing a game. Every time I plug it in I get the error "Device descriptor failed". I tried reinstalling the drivers from Dell's website, it didn't change anything. The port I used works fine with a different mouse, the AW958 works fine on a different computer. My mousepad still works both with the mouse plugged in and unplugged. I've used the mouse for about a year with this laptop until now and about 8 months on a different one before that. Any help would be highly appreciated.

CPU: i7-9750H
GPU: RTX2070
OS Windows 10 64-bit

Does the following link match the source/link of the drivers you downloaded?

If not, try the driver's via the link. Verify that I made the correct choices - especially "Format". Click the downward pointing arrows to see additional menu options.

If it is a match then try a fresh download and reinstall.
