How different hardware components operate in different speeds?

Hello,

I have to write a report about modern system architecture and to find out exactly how different hardware components (CPU, memory, I/O )operate in different speeds in modern computert architecture?

I have looked at different resources but I confused my self and I didn't find the answer. Could you help me to answer this question because I'm not very good in computing
