Hi, I just bought a nvme m.2 Samsung Evo 970 250gb ssd. I am looking to use the drive for booting windows and some games. How can I install windows to the drive?

I looked into the matter beforehand and I don’t want to clone my hdd to my ssd because my ssd isn’t big enough to fit all the files. It also seems like a bigger hassle. Am I able to just load windows install media on a usb, boot from it from bios, install windows, and be done? I want to avoid formatting any data from my hdd because I dont have anything to back it up with.

Well yeah its quite simple yes!!
1.First of all make sure your SSD is Completely formatted and ready for use
2.Create a Bootable USB Device using Media Creation Tool 1909.
3.Then Boot your System and boot your USB and enter Windows Setup.
4.Then you say Customize own settings and Select your SSD to install windows(YOur Other HDD will NOT Format itself during windows installation...It will be completely safe

NO, let windows handle the formatting. The drive should be completely unallocated, if not then delete all the partitions showing, and click next.

2.Create a Bootable USB Device using Media Creation Tool 1909.
I strongly suggest you do this First, before you wipe out your only bootable PC...

As mentioned, you want to disconnect other drives before installing Windows or it will write the actual boot files to the wrong drive. This has been like this since Windows 7.
