How do I know whether my BIOS is UEFI or not?

I would also like to know if it is possible to flash my BIOS into UEFI.

Your BIOS is either UEFI capable or it's not. If it's a relatively recent motherboard, it will have the UEFI option. Most every motherboard you come across today will have the option for UEFI boot, or legacy.

You should see this option in your BIOS somewhere. Or you could tell us what motherboard you have?
