Hey guys I recently ordered a 970, and r9 290 to test both out to see which one I enjoyed, both ended up having severe issues.. Great cards, better yet amazing untill they both died. So I decided while I already have a 7950, but buddy offered me his for $90.. And I'm debating if I should crossfire them, or just pick up a single card around $300-370

well I looked up the mobo and what I saw was that the mobo only has 2 PCIe 2.0 x16/x4 slots and newer cards like the r9 290 and gtx 970 are PCIe 3.0 so that might be where compatibility is an issue for you but then again I have done some research on this "not actual experience mind you" and a lot of forums and people say that the performance loss between 2.0 and 3.0 is negligible so to me that sounds like 3.0 cards are compatible with 2.0 slots. So in all honesty I couldnt tell you that the difference with the 2.0 and 3.0 could cause a dead card.
