is it possible to do so without re-installing the OS? I have a 120gb and its getting filled up (still has enough free) I want to clone it and use the another larger drive as my new 'C' or boot drive. i have windows 10 as the OS.

Very simple.
Buy a Samsung ssd.
Use the free ssd migration app to move your windows C drive installation to your new Samsung ssd.
Then boot to the new ssd.
You can then erase and reuse your 120gb ssd for whatever you want.
Here is a link to the app and instructions:

I have use this many times without fail.
The app is a C drive mover, not a clone.
