How to connect hard drive to case LED...

I just went SCSI and want to hook up my case hd led to my new scsi hard drive. The scsi card has a connector for an led, but I only want the led to activate with the hard drive, not everything else on the scsi card. The hard drive does have a couple of ways to connect to an led, but the leads are much smaller than the regular jumper connection for the case led. It's like a mini jumper on the hard drive. I have a maxtor atlas 10k III hooked to a adaptec 29160.
Is there an adapter available or will I just have to jury rig something????
Any suggestions???
Thanks.
Mike

I'm not sure I understood everything you said, but I'm pretty sure you're just supposed to hook up the HD LED to the motherboard somewhere.

I'm not using the ide on the motherboard. I'm using a separate scsi card. The hard drive has jumper connectors for an led, but they are much smaller than the connector for my case or the motherboard's connector either. Just wondering if anyone has seen a adapter for this???

Are you looking at the end of the drive where the ribbon/Power connects to the drive or where you ID the drive?

I'm quite aware you're not using the IDE channel on the motherboard. I'm saying that you need to connect the small female connector that connects from the front bezel of the case LED to a certain jumper on the motherboard. You don't connect anything from the hard drive to the LED or from the hard drive to the motherboard.

Yes, I'm looking by the power and ribbon connectors.
If I hook the case led to the motherboard, I wont get any light - since the motherboard hd led connector is for the motherboard ide.

It's the 10K II jumpers but they should be the same as the. 10K III. It tells what is what for the LED connections

Oh, alright then...I tried!

I don't use, nor do I know much, about the installation and use of a SCSI card. My apoligies.
