How to connect UMAX Scanner to HP computer

My program has been place on the computer but the commputer can't seem to find the scanner - maybe I plugged it in incorrectly?

When you installed the "program" on your computer, did that process also install the scanner's driver? Or, do you need to install the driver in a separate step?

Some devices want you to install the driver without the device connected, and then connect the device and its power supply. Then the system detects the device automatically. Others do it the opposite way - you must connect and power the device first. Then when Windows detects the device you must follow a procedure to direct Windows where to find the driver to install. Read the instructions with your scanner carefully to see exactly what procedure you must follow.
