How to hook up a external power supply to power graphic cards

hey i was wondering how to rig a power supply to power some graphic cards inside of the computer without it being hooked up to the motherboard. i know it be easier just to get a more powerful power supply but in this case i cant switch the power supplies because its a mac pro im working with.

could u get a dual feeder for the motherboard which will let both PSUs power the motherbaord and that will activate the PSU when u switch on then plug the rest of the connections into the GPU's
