I updated my age old laptop to latest windows 10, but now the ram usage is just to high, the CPU usage is high too and it's barely usable. How can fix this? I have seen seen videos of "Decrapifying" windows, how effective are they and are they safe? or is there anyway to downgrade my windows to older version of windows 10 only, cause earlier it was quite stable.

No apps other than the native windows apps
so even in clean boot?

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

is this win 10 32bit or 64 bit? Just wondering as that ram amount is low even for win 7, I had 4gb (More than I could...

Where does win11 fit into this?

Sounds more likely over the years the system drive is filled with junk / and or possibly malware.

Run Malwarebytes, clear some space and see how you go.

Could always reinstall windows, using Microsoft Media Creation Tool to setup usb stick to begin the process and start fresh.

Oops, by mistake i wrote windows 11, and regarding the trojan, I think it's not that cause it was like I was using the laptop, it was working totally. Then it asked for update so thought "why not, its been years". It updated itself and it started to lag a lot!!

What Windows version this laptop came with?
What are brand / model / specs?
the laptop came with windows 7 in 2011 or 12, it has i3 M300 something processor and 2GB RAM DDR3. I'll be upgrading my RAM soon cause i know its too low, but earlier i was atleast able to do some basic things like surfing internet or even run ppsspp (hats off to devs who built it, so well optimized)
