What the title says so basically here is what is troubling me: i got the new vertex series and before i started to install it I started to uninstall my old psu until I saw dust around the 16-pin adapter. After removing the adapter this is the final result.

I am quite paranoid about the gpu and it's connector due to it's bad history so i would like to clean it.

My question is what are your reccommendations to clean this off safely.

Thank you in advance.

Spinning fans isn't really a problem unless you drive them beyond their rated RPM. If using compressed air, you should be shooting in short quick bursts anyway, so that won't really bring the fans up to speed.

But yeah, if you really want, just hold the fans in place with your fingers. Barring that, use tape or something.

I was legit hoping for something more simple and safer

It's only that spot that needs to be cleared of dust and I was hoping for an option of not uninstalling the gpu and holding it's fan to clean just THAT part that is all.
You don't have to do any of that. I pointed out the only issue with spinning fans is if they overrev, which if you use short bursts of compressed air, they won't get to that speed or if they do, they won't stay there for long.

Yeah i got that part but my paranoia(it's a personal issue) scares me that it might go wrong(since it's 1200$) still I am thankful for the help
