Hello, I own a MSI h61m- e23 (b3) and I wanted to change my backplate to install a new cooler for my CPU but I ran into a wall, I’ve no idea how to take off this backplate without damaging the board, any help will be appreciated. My guess is that the plate is glued (Grey adhesive in the photos) to the steel thing, because there are no screws attaching it to anything.

Avoid putting anything solid (like a screwdriver or even a spudging tool) between the backplate and the PWB to pry it off but you might also use dental floss. Wrap it around and pull it between the plate and the adhesive. Even more effective when it's been heated up.

It worked!! Thank you so much, I’ve been in this thing for about 2 hours figuring out what to do.
The dental floss was very effective, it was like slicing through butter.
