Hey I am quite new to Overclocking, and I only have an Intel DG31PR so OC'ing with the BIOS is a no-go. But I found this software called SetFSB but when I use it to set the FSB(bcoz some of the guides say so) of my crappy Intel E2180@2.00 ghz, only by around 10 or 20..... my PC hangs and I have to restart, I know its supposed to hang but I don't think 20 more FSB is supposed to make it hang.

Anyways, the problems are:
1. How much speed do I gain for each FSB set to higher value?
2. How do I keep it from hanging? Is it supposed to hang that easily?
3. Do I really need an after market cooler?
4. Will replacing the thermal paste help?
5. What else should I do?

DAM thats a lot of questions 😛, no need to answer all of 'em just helpful info

ANother thing; I really don't have the $ to get a new mobo but I am getting a new processor soon, maybe a few months later but for now I have to work on OC'ing it atleast to 2.5 ghz or sumthing.

all helpful reps are highly appreciated!

Sorry you got an intel motherboard. My friend's son also got one and dissappointed that he can not overclock one bit his new rig.
Just go for your planned CPU upgrade as soon as you can so you can enjoy your games. I saw in your other thread that you budgetted P5500 for the CPU. Just get the E7500.
PS: Saan mo ba balak bumili?

Hmmm alam mo ba san mas mura? PC Express....actually I got this Tipid PC item:http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=5630947

I doubt whether anyone who have E5400 or E6300 will want to swap with an E2180 added cash or not. Otherwise, they will be in your position now. But I wish you good luck.
Whatever happened to your P5500 budget in your other thread?

Try checking in Gilmore in San Juan, they have a lot of Computer stuff there. Also check PC Netmiles, DynaQuest PC and PC Hub, PC Netmiles and DynaQuest PC are located in Eton Cyberpod and the rest are in Gilmore.

Hope this helps! :bounce:
