The only advantage that AMD has over Intel is its graphics - onboard or discrete..

ATI couldnt survive alone on its graphic card business - it was a bit dire before they sold.

If Intel are such a failure in its own products then how come its making money when AMD is not.

Intel will produce in time a chipset and a videocard as they have hired video card experts from the industry to design, build and manufacture a videocard to do it proud.

AMD fans are in real denial it this is not going to happen, this if you like is AMD fanboy / girls last attempt at trying to forefill their favourite failing company.

AMD will not survive on its current products - period, they need a roadmap of new processors and cant afford to design any.

Watch the AMD designers jump ship, then youll find out what Intel are really capable of, every one in the industry has respect on how Intel runs even tho sometimes it is not ethical, but other companies are not ethical and we dont hear about those..

ASDA / WALMART, Tesco, HP, Dell, Foxconn - shale I go on.

I don't think AMD will drop out of the CPU world in the next year or so, but that is about the time they have to come out with a new architecture. The good thing is I think Nvidia is going to step up into the CPU world sometime in the next 2 years. Nvidia has to be irritated with Intel for moving the northbridge business onto their chips.

And how are they going to do that without a licence?

I'm not an expert on licensing, but it is just a gut feeling I have. I don't see Nvidia trying to buy VIA for their liscense. So it looks like they would have to make a deal with intel to pay them fees.

Imagine if AMD did go bust.

All the AMD fan people ( because i cant be bothered with boys / girls thing anymore ) would be speachless.

I was reading a magazine I had lying around with AMD 64 computers all over it. Dell were still selling Intel p4s and p4d's but AMD were the supremo.

They wouldnt be able to think up any dodgy replies whilst having a dump. AMD wouldnt be on there mind for much longer as the Church of AMD ( im sure there is one as there is a chuch or anything bloody else ) would be no more.

Therefore they would have no dumping material left appart from trainspotters weekly, dungeon and dragon monthly whilst shining their virtual axe.

Good news Hellboy ... your not going to be alone for long buddy.

Don't worry ... I am getting one too !!!

Random and JD probably have an ES as we speak.

Thats wishfull thinking.

I bet you get one that says no after the first attempt.

There is n way im popping a robot..

Ummm ... hey ... I am a guy.

I asked the wife first ... she said sure ... then mumbled a bit and went out in the car 30 mins ago ... I am sure she will be back.

I need someone to cook.

I am sure that will be a lot harder to program than whisper things like "superpipelined multithreaded 8 iissue per clock superscalar .. .etc ".

The wife has trouble with those concepts ... she is a nurse.

It was inevitable.

If she took a boomberang, your having kangaroo steaks tonight.

My god havent rolls reversed

Rumour has it that the deluxe model has a Phenom II ... liquid cooled of course.

AMD Doomed !! I don't think so.

Think of the size of the market !!

Only geeks like PC's ... but everyone will want one of these !!

yeah it will kick you in the nuts 7 times and then youll get you 7 gigahurtz

lol Nvidia they are expect at what they do "GPUs" they wont be able to beat intels cpus, not even in years.

"Demand grew. Eventually, Bloomberg worked out that calculating all results through that model overnight would require a tenfold increase in processor cores, from 800 to 8,000. Rather than take the brute-force approach, the company went with Tesla GPUs. Now, instead of 1,000 servers with eight cores each, Bloomberg is able to run its calculations on just "48 server/GPU pairs."

dam so right now insted of buying more/better cpus to get more performance they are getting more GPU's lol, and out performing the cpu speed by 100x.

but still, they need the cpu in order for the GPU's to work, and Nvidia if they wanna start making Cpus, then they still got a long way to go.

Your goofy and your mom dresses you funny. Why are you defending AMD?
