There are a lot of people in the same situation. I for example bought a 4870 6 months ago and xfire 4770's 4 months ago.

I'll be buying the 5870, possibly the 5850 on wednesday. With luck I'll get back 70-80% of what I paid for the old hardware. 😉

I bought a GTX275 back in June. I could probably get 150-190% of the cost back easily on eBay since I paid 50% retail for it. 😛

Hmm. Tbh, you should do.

I listed one of my 4770's and my 4870 tonight. I overpaid for my 4870 but I should get almost full price back on the 4770.

I intended to list my Q6600 and mobo then buy a 720 BE or another 940 BE as well, but once again laziness got the better of me.

Starting to think it's an intel plot against me selling it....😀

I just don't need any more GPU power. I mostly play Left 4 Dead, where I get 90-200FPS with 16xQ AA already. Only in Far Cry 2 and Crysis does my GTX275 feel a bit weak, but then both of those games are boring after an hour anyway (whereas I will today pass my 400th hour of L4D play time). What I really want is a cooler-running, quieter card, which is quite the opposite of the 275.

On the other hand, I get frustrated when a mental ray render takes more than 5 seconds.

Well I can't trust that he'll keep that offer until the end of the financial year. After all, the solar rebate disappeared overnight with no warning until after it was gone. If it's still around close to the end of June 2010, I will reconsider :)

Nay, less profits for AMD, more money for us.

Real-time ray tracing, if it can't be done with larrabee, isn't going to happen any time soon. I've seen the CUDA-based "real time" ray tracer demoed not long ago but it was weak. There are CPU-based ray tracers which can do almost the same thing, albeit not as fast. It's nice to be able to push 5-10FPS, but when you're not drawing the whole scene in each frame and that's extremely noticeable to the user, you've failed at showing something done properly in real time.

Never hidden it, nor will I hide it. Why should I exactly?

At least I'm honest with it, unlike these gutless intel fans who pretend to be 'neutrals who only care about technology'. Pretty sure you'll know who that is.

LOL - well I don't think you can accuse me of hiding under any 'neutrality' camouflage 😀. Although I'll take the 'gutless' comment - as in not having a big gut - as a compliment, thank you very much! :kaola:

You sure you're not actually on Intel's payroll? You're doing a fine job of antagonizing the neutral ones into the Intel camp 😀.

Anyway, back on topic, here is yet another 'financial pundit' who thinks AMD is precariously perched on the edge of its grave:

Ten Big Companies That Are Veering Toward Bankruptcy

When will AMD actually make money again? The question is becoming more important by the day since it carries over $5 billion in long-term debt.

After losing almost $3 billion from 2007 – 2008, analysts expect the company to lose more money in 2009 and 2010.

While the shares rallied from their February $2 low, they still appear stuck in a long-term down trend from $40 highs way back in 2006.

We should at least let jennyh correct the spelling of 'guaranteed' - otherwise, he or she will look just a bit uneducated, as well as foolish! 😗

Hey look, anyone can link 'news' like it actually matters. 😀

Fazers...it is true that *nobody* could possibly mistake you for anything except being a total intel fanboy. I just want to know what happened to make you so messed up? Did you once buy an AMD then get banned off AMDZone? Do you even realise that you and your sad sycophants (TC and Badtrip for example) talk more about AMDZone than any AMD fan does? 😀

You know TC, you never, ever say that about anyone defending intel.

It's because you're an intel fanboy, amongst the worst here in fact. You hide it pretty well, pretending your 'wife' has an AMD system etc, but you never say anything good about AMD thats for sure.

You never miss a chance to jump onto fazers bandwagon either. True to fashion, here you are again. Maybe you're just trying to drum up more fools for your signature attempt? 😀
