Have you got another scanner or camera plugged in at the same time?
If so unplug the other device from the USB (hubs and direct connections),
then reinstall the software, and you should hopefully get it working.
Likewise other scanners or cameras won't work if the S20 is plugged in as
well. You have to just keep swapping the plugs round.
HP know about this problem as it's how they've set up the S20 to work under
Windows XP. However they've never done anything to rectify it.
