Hi there!
I am planning to buy a new mobile and the candidates are the p30 Pro and the s10+

I had both on my hands in a store but thats still not enough intel to decide.
So I'm asking you consumers. I need the best video recording performance and also daily performance (imo the last aspect will be the same no matter which I choose).
I watched some comparisons, and most of them gave props to the S10+ BUT, in Europe you can get the Exynos chipped models instead of the Snapdragon one. Which according to the internet and the users <mod edit>. What do you suggest?

Personally neither but if I had to choose the S10 would be the better buy.

The best video recording phones are the iPhone XS/R/S+. Sound quality is miles better than what is available on Android with similar video quality.
Really? I've never seen a decent Camera on an Iphone. It pratically always loses to an Android, especially Samsung, in most independent reviews.
Also there is a difference in the way the image is processed between the Snapdragon and the Exynos.

OP - Anandtech did a great review

The s9 camera and the note 9 got schooled by the iPhone 8+/X last time around and even though it is improved it’s performance is generally poorer. It’s better in low light compared to the iphones however. It’s been apple vs google for best camera recently. Google normally winning.

But again video on the iphones is industry leading. Listen to a video recorded on a Samsung then compare it to one recorded on an iPhone.

Best review I can think of would be everythingapplepros on YouTube for a comparison.

Well I prefer independent reviews and someone with a youtube name everythingapplepros sounds one sided, which is why Anandtech does great reviews and so do many other unbiased reviewers.

We will have to disagree on this one.

Because the channel is primarily apple focused but reviews are generally sound. I wouldn’t have suggested it or even watch the channel if it was biased. Believe he even switched to the S10 for a brief period after the review.

Plenty of reviewers are biased and work for large tech review sites. Look at tomshardware with their RTX ball drop.

True that and although the owners of Toms owns Anandtech, I still think Anandtech has his integrity still. So many sponsored stories on this website, it's fake advertising as a review, but we digress.

Do agree but generally prefer individuals vs companies as you get a feel for the guy. Similar to points raised by I believe videogamedunky in his game reviewers video.

Also believe the apple pro guy does buy his own stuff to review but I don’t know for definite.

Well, Iphone falls behind to these guys above in most aspects, according to comparisons. Selfie mode rocks on Iphone but I dont care 'bout it.
And for the price of Huawei or Samsung flagship, I would get an XR at max. And I am planning to do fishing videos and kind of articles which could include the need of some serious zoom or night mode, thats why Im opting for the P30 Pro even if it may fall behind the Samsung Video capture vise.

If you’re planning on doing videos why not get a decent DSLR instead?

Well, your point is making sense 100%
But my phone got recently ruined, waiting for insurance.
And I was like, Im gonna buy a flagship, that can make decent videos so I can try the field of video making.
So the reaseon if I dont like to continue making them, or it just doesnt appeal to me the way I have imagined,
at least I have a badass phone that serves all my needs. And dont have to bother with the resell of a DSLR

I'll still fall back to my suggestion of the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro it's a flagship phone with flagship specs (SD855, 10gb RAM, 4000mAh battery).
I've owned OnePlus phones for 5 years now (1, 3T, 6) and have had no complaints about anything.

Tbh I’d look at the budget alternatives. Like instead of the 1,200 XS Max get the 800 XR and spend the 400 spare on a camera. A good camera will probably come in handy anyway.

In my region, at my provider , the prices of : P30 Pro - S10+ Exynos , XR 64GB, are all the same.
Considering this, XR is really out of perspective

Eh the XR annihilates both in terms of SoC, haptics, security, longevity and stuff like iMessage, pages, keynote etc are great to have included. The camera minus wide angle and zoom is arguably better as a normal point and shoot and it doesn’t have an OLED which personally I count as a plus and why I have an XR over the XS.
