Hello,
I play Esport fps games like cs2, r6 and so on. I take this games very seriously and I want to use my new DELL monitor 24.5 inch 360hrz to its fullest potential.
These are my specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper H412R 34.1 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-P Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master 690 III ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Monitor: Dell Alienware AW2523HF 24.5" 1920 x 1080 360 Hz Monitor

My issue is the frame drops I get during gameplay. I can be playing CS2 on 1280x960 medium to low settings and my fps will go all the way from 380-200 and when your playing and see such high fps drops in real time, its really distracting when I am trying my best to win.
Now in r6 (low settings 1920x1080p 4/3 streched) my fps is not 360 but it is around 300 and a bit more stable so its not as big of a problem but my main game is CS2 and I am wondering if anyone has tips on what part I can upgrade to have a difference.
Disclamer! I really would rather not upgrade the GPU but if it is the only way then you can just tell me in the comments!

If I were to get a 9800x3D do you by any chance know what the difference in frames would be approx in procent form?

Sorry i don't know what you mean. Did you look at the link? Scroll down to cs2, there's an minimum fps increase of around 100fps compared to 7600x.
9800x3D has higher minimum fps. Since graphics card get it's instructions from cpu to render, fps can only be as fast as cpu can provide. Having a cpu capable of more + memory speed to suit, is a good start. 7600x is no slouch just doesn't meet your expectations, though ram speed would be hurting performance for it a bit.

Start with getting better ram, 6000 CL30 as that is what is recommended as the sweet spot for 9800x3D, 7 series too. Then see how your 7600x performs, fps minimums should increase. Won't be as drastic increase compared to upgrading cpu, especially 9800x3D but at least you'll have the ram speed to start the next upgrade phase if you decide to do so.

You get diminishing returns after 120 in terms of perceived smoothness, just set the monitor to 240 or even less and you should be better off as will your power bill. Also you won’t “play better” because of a 4ms improvement in frame latency. I can guarantee your internet speed is running a significantly higher latency which is the limiting factor. The ideal ping is about 20ms and when factoring in refresh rate and input lag you need to hit 120Hz to be under that with the lag being around 12.5 seconds.

A couple of things here.

First, I think you could use a better CPU if you are going to continue with uncapped 1080P. My opinion is that you set yourself a frame limit and realistic "competitive" settings for the framerate you seek.

Another point would be in relation to your monitor. I haven't looked it up myself but wonder if it actually supports the various Free Sync options which would be ideal for the AMD graphics card.

You already have a pretty good rig. I upgraded the videocard in my 9700k rig to a 4090 from a 1080ti. The least significant gain I saw in FPS was 50%, but that was at 1440p. I'd figure w/your present rig a 4090 would make a significant diff. in FPS, much better than what I get.
