Question I have no sound in my headphones even though they are plugged in ?

Hello, I'm asking for help because I have a problem with my headphones, there's no sound coming from them. I've done all the basic operations. At first I had no sound at all, so I installed the drivers. It didn't work, then I used the problem solver and it worked. Then I tried connecting my headphones to the jacks on the front but it wasn't detected. I updated the drivers but nothing worked. I then went to the realtek audio console and activated the option ‘Disable front panel jack detection’ and there I had access to the front panel connectors.

When I plug in my headphones I don't get a notification or anything telling me that a new device has just been plugged in. When I go to choose which device I want to listen to with the settings available on the bottom right I have ‘amd high definition ...’ and ‘Realtek HD AUDIO 2nd OUTPUT’ => corresponds to my front connector.

Now here I am: I've plugged in the headphones but there's no sound coming out of the headphones or out of the screen at all, so to get sound I have to choose my screen's speaker. If I plug it into the audio socket on the back of my box, it works but I don't think I can get sound or a microphone, which bothers me a lot. I've just installed Windows 11.

I hope you can help me, I've installed the drivers several times, reinstalled old drivers, activated problem solver several times and I don't know what to do.

maybe the plug are not connected tightly to the front panel?
reinstall realtek drivers directly from realtek

are you getting sound and microphone from the back or not?
Don't understand this:
If I plug it into the audio socket on the back of my box, it works but I don't think I can get sound or a microphone

Thank you for your reply!

I plugged my headset in at the back and the sound and microphone worked fine, they were instantly detected. I've already reinstalled the drivers and I don't think that's the problem.

As far as the plug is concerned, it's ? The front audio power cable is not connected properly to the motherboard?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Go online to the the motherboard's manufacturer's website. (Do be sure that it is the actual manufacturer's website. Watch out for bogus .manual type websites....)

Look for the applicable motherboard User Guide/Manual.

Per @helpstar 's post, refer to the manual to doublecheck the audio connections inside the case and to the front panel audio port(s).
