I m having 5 cables with my power supply cable but the jack is for 6 and one spa

hi guys,i hav pentium4 DellGx620 and i wanna conect a 3d card on it which requires a 6pinned powersupply cable,in my cpu there is a poer supply cable having a jack of 6 cables but 1 is empty and total cables going inside the jack are 5..Can i run 3d card using this cable..?.........If any body can help me i ll be grate ful to him.thanks

Did you read the thread the other day where someone plugged his PCI-E 8pin cable into his ATX 8 pin supplementary power on his Mobo. Killed system, not sure how much is gone yet, but definately mobo, possible, memory, cpu and gpu.

Please think before replying, ask more questions, what colour are the wires for instance would allow you to research as to what voltages are on them, and then you can have a stab at answering.

hm thats weird because the adapter that came with my 550ti is missing one of the connectors for the pcie connector :/
