Q6600, but am considering replacing, i need a cost comparison of 775 vs whatever alternative and to consider the performance/cost ratio of switching to a different socket set.

As things are i could get a 775, then if i want more performance overclock or switch to another 775 CPU and overclock.

Looks like I'll be making the switch to I7 then...

Do i understand correctly that there are 775 socket PCI-e boards out there but they are not 16x which is needed for SLI?

With a chipset intel also is possible do the SLI. Take a look of THIS mobo.

Lol, i think it's a bit overkill for me, i'm building this PC based on price/performance ratio for a single game, the 4 sli slots are not needed as 3 will run crysis at 1980x1200 at past 60fps average and my tv's refresh rate is 60, resolution 1980x1080.

Also that Mobo would not fit in the case i just ordered.

At the moment the Evga board i found is the top contender, if there's a tri sli i7 board you know of i would be interested to see that.

Thanks

The thing is, i am only really interested in Crysis Warhead and in Crysis Warhead not even TriXfired 5870's beat TriSLIed GTX285's (basically no different to GTX275's and quite a bit worse to 275's when they are OCed):

As for performance differences in other games, that's tit for tat, i only need 60fps at 1980x1080 on any game i play, it's the most my TV puts out, i don't really think I'll play many if any other games, so the 275's match my needs and perform better than any other cards out there meeting them.

60FPS? you can get this mark with a GTX260 in GRID at 1920x1080 in a Samsung 2333 SW Plus (I have this monitor) If you are only interested in Crysis, you can get one only GPU, a GTX285, or an ATI 5850 or 5870, even, with my GTX260 I can play Crysis with a very good details.

Benchmarks don't reflect that opinion, can you back up what your saying?

A lot of people are reporting poor performance on Crysis with even a 5870.

Great if you can I'd be very interested if not, i am totally done discussing it, the thread i link makes it clear why i have my opinion.

Ok, right now I'm in my work. After this I go to the University, so, give me few hours 'till arrive to my home and run GRID and Crysis with fraps activated, and after that I post the pictures of the results Ok?

My rig is:

CPU: Phenom II X4 955
GPU: GTX260 896
RAM: 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer
HDD: 2x500GB Itachi

P.D. Obviously, all this after that doing my homework
