I'm having trouble deciding between these three monitors, and I'd appreciate some advice. The available options for a 32-inch monitor are as follows:

  1. G7 LC32G75TQSMXZN: priced at $560
  2. AOC CQ32G3SE: priced at $356.00
  3. LG 32GN650-B: priced at $410
  4. G5 LC32G55TQBMXE: priced at $250
G7 is the best, but I don't want to pay extra for the 240Hz refresh rate that I won't utilize. I can use those extra packs for a better chair or just save them :)

I'll be connecting the monitor to my Legion 5 Pro with a 3070, so I won't be able to reach 240Hz. I'll mainly be playing games at 60-90fps and doing video editing. I typically play story mode games and some League of Legends, without any high FPS shooting games. Therefore, I feel that the G7 is unnecessary in my case, 144 would be enough for me. However, when I consider the other 3 monitors, I notice that their panel quality is not as good as the G7, which confuses me. Unfortunately, there are no other 32-inch options in the market, and I don't want to settle for a 27-inch monitor. So should I invest in the G7 even though I dont need its 240 HZ just for the panel or sacrifice and buy the cheapest one?

Note: One of my friends got the 27 inch model and told me that the screen got off the frame and many reviews online confirmed this to the g5 monitors.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thank you in advance!

If you could afford it, don't get the cheap one. There is a reason it's cheap. I would recommend the Samsung or LG because they make the panels used in the other two. There are a few companies I would recommend over LG or Samsung, but AOC isn't one of them.
Backlight zones are a gimmick. The effect can look awful unless the zone is small enough. At this price point the zone is not small enough.

I got your point and I agree. Would the G5 then be still good option?

The G5 is a good option. I edited it after you commented, but local dimming zones don't look good which is one of the benefits of the G7. The only real benefit would by Gsync support.
The G7 has better contrast ratio, higher brightness, and a faster refresh rate. But would it be noticeable by a user compared to the G5? I don't think so.

Thank you so much for your reply, you helped me to think about this in a positive way.

I understand now that the difference between G7 and G5 would be mainly in the Gsync and improvement of the panel which might not be so big for someone like me.

If I may ask you, would this LG model beat the G5 so much considering it cost 160$ more?

Hey there,

That's a tough call. The 27inch will have better pixel density than the 32inch at the same res (2560 1440p).

The 32inch is better for movies, but you naturally have to be sitting back from it. So, when gaming, you really need to be further back from the desk/monitor too. That doesn't work very well. Seeing everything, particularly the corner areas can take some getting used to.

Also, all of those panels are VA. Yes, this means you get some better darks (black) and higher contrast ratio, but is arguably inferior to the more all-round panel type (IPS). My preference is IPS. There can be some ghosting with VA panels, and the overdrive and make stuff look weird like crazy motion blur.

The LG model is a slightly above midrange. So someplace between the G5 and G7. That one is a question of do you want more contrast or do you want better color accuracy. The LG will have more accurate colors. It will also be at the right saturation. Samsung tends to spec their monitors to be oversaturated.

Sorry for my late reply. Lately I was comparing G7 and G5 34 inch "ultra wide model", but I decided "95%" to get the G7 to have best VA panel in this price range and enjoy the futuristic curve. I think G7 panel will help me use the monitor for few years without considering to upgrade specially that I am a casual gamer and more into 3d stuff.

I decided that LG is not good for me because it is flat which makes it a small tv for me and I dunno if I am going to like to look at a small tv or not. "I do not know if LG panel is similiar to G7 or not but he flat thing helped me to decide"

G5 34 is so cool for me tbh, as the ultra wide will be useful when I want to connect two pcs to it "some times I need to work on two different pcs" but the G5 panel makes me scared, that It would not do good cuz of the flickering and ghosting or whtever the issue everyone is talking about. I don't want to spend some money on an average product while I can get a "good" one. Right?

I will get the G7 tomorrow and I have one last question, if anyone has any info, would the G7 work well with 60 fps gaming or is it gonna flicker?

Thank you so much!
