I want a 4K gaming Experience In My Living Room

I'd like to do it on my PC. Would a GTX 1080 do it or do I need a 1080 ti?

My specs include a Core i7 4770K, 16GB of RAM, a Corsair 750TX V2 PSU, and a GTX 970.

I also have a wireless PS4 controller that I can use and a wireless combo keyboard plus mousepad built in. Are there any useful tips and tricks for comfortably using my PC from my couch? I already know about steam big picture mode. I'm thinking about using it in conjunction with kodi. Also I have a launchbox premium account. No point in letting that go to waste. So I might rather use it instead of steam.

I'd go for a 1080ti. You can just manage with a 1080, but it requires you to be aggressive at reducing the settings in some games and that gives you little room for error as AAA games advance in the next few years.

1080ti or wait for the next release, since I would think that would be the first high end Ti card that can deliver good FPS at 4k with every setting set to ultra

Agreed to wait until next generation. It takes 1080ti to max out very AAA game today at 4k, in 2 years it probably wont be able to keep up.
